Accessibility Statement

Valo wants everyone to be able to use valoenergy.com, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification or voice control. This statement describes how accessible the website is, what we know does not yet work, and how to tell us about a problem.

It covers the website at valoenergy.com. It does not cover the documents, tools or services of other companies that the website links to.

How accessible this website is

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard the European standard EN 301 549 refers to. The website partially meets it: most of the site does, and the exceptions are listed below.

Apart from the problems listed further down, on this website you should be able to:

  • use every page, menu and control with a keyboard alone, starting with a “Skip to content” link
  • see where the keyboard focus is at all times
  • zoom in to 400% without text being cut off or needing to scroll sideways
  • increase line, letter and word spacing without losing content
  • turn off animation and scroll effects with your device’s “reduce motion” setting
  • pause the scrolling strip of figures on pages that have one, with its pause button or by pointing at it
  • read text that meets the WCAG contrast minimums against its background
  • find pages through the main menu, the search page and the footer on every page
  • use the site with a screen reader: pages have landmarks, headings, labelled buttons and text alternatives for images

What does not yet work

We know about the following problems and are working on them.

  • PDF documents. Most of our product sheets and brochures are not tagged for assistive technology, so a screen reader may read them in the wrong order or not at all (WCAG 1.3.1, 1.3.2). We plan to replace them with accessible versions. Until then, email us and we will send you the information in another format.
  • Some image descriptions. A number of images in news and product listings have a text alternative that repeats the file name instead of describing the image (WCAG 1.1.1). We are rewriting them.
  • Contact and newsletter forms. When a required field is left empty, the form can also show an unnecessary message saying it needs an email or phone field (WCAG 3.3.1).

Content from other companies

Some parts of the website are provided by other companies. We choose and configure them, but we cannot change how they are built:

  • the cookie consent banner and cookie declaration, provided by Cookiebot.
  • the contact and newsletter forms, provided by ActiveCampaign, and the reCAPTCHA spam check inside them, provided by Google. The reCAPTCHA check does not show a keyboard focus indicator, one of its frames has no title for a screen reader to announce, and on a very narrow screen its box can run a few pixels past the edge.
  • videos and maps embedded from YouTube, Vimeo or Google Maps, whose players and controls belong to those services

If any of these stops you from doing something on our website, contact us and we will help another way.

Tips for using the website

  • Text is sized in pixels, so changing the default font size in your browser’s settings has no effect. Use page zoom instead (Ctrl and + on Windows, Cmd and + on a Mac); the layout adapts to it.
  • In long articles, the contents list may shorten long headings. The full headings are in the article itself.

Tell us about a problem

If you find something on this website that you cannot use, or you need content in a different format, email us at info@valoenergy.com. Tell us the address of the page and what went wrong. We aim to reply within 14 days.

How we prepared this statement

This statement was prepared on 29 September 2026. It is based on a self-assessment by the company that builds the website: automated testing of 27 pages at desktop and mobile widths with the axe-core tool, testing by hand with a keyboard, with zoom, text spacing and reduced motion, and a review of the website’s code against each WCAG 2.2 A and AA success criterion.

We will review this statement at least once a year, and whenever we make a significant change to the website.
